Most tour companies pick-up / drop off from our front door! if your arriving / departing on a bus from or to Nelson request a drop off straight to the Laughing Kiwi Backpackers as we are on the high street.

About Us
Situated in the heart of Motueka, the Laughing Kiwi Backpackers hostel, offers clean affordable accommodation in 3 separate houses, each with its own unique atmosphere. The purpose built Backpacker Lodge, Homely Villa and the private seasonal workers house.
Backpacker accommodation room types include private doubles, with or without ensuite, private twin, 4 bed share rooms & 6 bed dorms.
Each house has its own homely lounge with gas fire, well equipped kitchen, unmetered hot showers & warm comfortable beds.
With a maximum of only 40 guests on site, even in peak season, there is plenty of space for everybody, especially when it comes to cooking a meal and relaxing after the days activities:)
All rooms have heating & all bedding is supplied as standard and professionally laundered. We also have FREE unlimited Wifi.

Our lovely cabins are private and situated in our garden area they are great for “Glamping”!

Bathroom, kitchens and BBQ facilities will be sharded with the backpackers, a short stroll away.

We have a book exchange program where you can swap a book or try one while you stay. We also have a selection of board games for use, a large selection of DVD’s to choose from and our hostel guitar is available for use.

We are situated close to town in fact a 2 minute walk and your there!
A large supermarket is right across the road as well as banks, cafe’s and any thing else you require during your stay or to get ready for the park.
